Annual BH&HPA conference
Last week I attended the BH&HPA (British Holiday & Home Parks Association) annual conference near Coventry. Very well attended with members being updated on national and regional issues and government policies which will have an impact on holiday parks in the future.
I was very interested in the progress with the ‘rate this park’ service which has given us valuable customer feedback during 2010 and we are already looking at some changes on the parks as a result of those comments.
The highlight of the conference was John Penrose, the Minister of Tourism, who outlined the coalition government’s approach to tourism and he was very interested to hear the comments from our members about Destination Management and the promotion of tourism. As an industry we are now looking forward to the ‘new ideas’ which are about to be released and we are keen to have the right tools in place to make it easy for our visitors to find their holiday accommodation and to ensure that tourism continues to support the local economies around the UK.
Looking at our parks this weekend, the park teams have made good progresss over the last week to make the parks ready for opening on 18 March and to ensure we are ready for Easter
