A doggie day out!
James and James in Marketing spent the day working with our newest Marketing recruits our two four-legged friends named Harry and Daisy and here is our write up from their eyes!
Woof Woof says Harry! We would like to welcome you to one of the WDLH parks this Autumn. Although they are all dog friendly, Daisy and I spent the day today at Highlands End Holiday Park. We can’t believe how many new friends we met today (A quick woof to Milo and Millie) and we would love to meet more. Here is our special guide to a perfect doggy day at Highlands End!
Daisy and I started the morning off with a fabulous run in the parks dog exercising field, which looks over Eype Beach and all the way out to sea. We had great fun running around and playing fetch as the field is enclosed and we didn’t have to have our leads on like we do on the park. We had a rest and a drink back at the motorhome before heading up to the park shop. Although we aren’t allowed in the shop we can sneak into the Cowshed where the views are outstanding and we got to hear the news while our owners sipped a cup of Dorset Tea.
Daisy loved the smell of the breakfasts coming from Martin’s Bar & Restaurant, but being the older more sensible dog, I persuaded her that we should go home for breakfast and save our visit until later when the football was on and we will get more treats! I will push for breakfast on our departure day or late in the week if it rains at some point!
Breakfast was long and we began to get a bit restless so after a few teasing barks we were off for a walk down to Eype Beach with a small picnic and day out swimming and rock pooling under Thorncombe Beacon. It is embarrassing to say but it took me ages to build the courage up to go swimming. Daisy, the silly billy, jumped right in but I preferred chilling on the pebbles. Once I was in though, wow it was nice to cool off. I was so pleased we took our ball and we swam for hours (doggy paddle) out to get the ball to bring it back to the beach. I won of course!
Once we had a drink and our owners had their picnic, we began the walk back up to Highlands End. I didn’t think about the walk back up as we went down to the beach from the cliff top park, but we stopped at a bench half way up to take in the view. Being a bit sandy we had a quick wash in the new doggy shower by the toilet block and then we had a nap and dried outside the Motorhome on the grass.
Mid afternoon we were off again. I don’t understand sports unless dogs are involved and all Daisy does is pop the ball, but we went up to Martin’s Bar & Restaurant, where so much of the building is dog friendly. We understand some of the building has to be non-doggy and we were just pleased to be allowed in with our lovely owners. We weren’t allowed a pint but the doggy bowl gave us a quick pit stop before settling in for a nap while Bridport beat Manchester City (I am colour blind so I made the teams up ?) but I was pleased Bridport won 35-0 and then I found out we were watching rugby! Never mind.
We had dinner in the bar, well we didn’t as the food was so good everything was eaten by our owners but they really enjoyed the Ranch Burger and the Fish and Chips! As night fell we managed a quick walk back in the dog field before settling down for a kip. I was so pleased I even managed to say goodnight to Jack and Matt the park wardens who were doing their checks. They were a great help when we arrived after our journey and showed us where we could have a run while we checked in!
We managed to do all of this within walking distance of the park so we are excited for tomorrow when we are heading off to explore the local area in our little pink Fiat 500. According to the Visitor Information area on the park, the local market is on tomorrow, plenty of pubs welcome us for lunch and we can enjoy an ice cream while walking along the pier at West Bay!! ?
Some must know info for your owners when you come and say hi this September, we found out there are a maximum of 2 doggies per booking, you must be on a lead and stick with your owner’s while on the park and we also can’t be left alone which is great as we want to be with them having a great holiday! Hopefully we will see you on the park this Autumn! Woof!
A blog from our Holiday Home Sales Team
Hello from the WDLH Sales Team!
We can’t believe it is already September and show season is upon is! I know we have had a wonderful summer but just where has this year gone?
So what’s been happening in sales I hear you ask? Well, we welcomed Dan Dunford to the team in July. Some of you may know Dan as he previously worked in the Accounts Team. Unfortunately as we gained one we lost another and Jess decided she wanted to sell on the other side of the world. She has landed safely in New Zealand and is having a wonderful time!
When we were asked to write our blog, I wondered what to write about as sales is in most people eyes, well sales! So our day to day job includes speaking with and marketing to potential Holiday Home Owners, as well as assisting and helping our existing 500+ Holiday Home Owner’s across the 5 Parks. We are heavily involved in Marketing and have been busy learning how to operate our brand new website and also our Facebook page. We also have satellite offices out on the parks like the office at Golden Cap Holiday Park and the S Pod Sales Office at Larkfield Holiday Park that we visit daily and many of you may have spotted our shop window in West Bay with our brochure stands.
We generally hold stock on all 5 parks throughout the year, which is checked and opened daily (as long as the weather is nice!). We launched our late summer sale this week and we have some fabulous offers on our 2018 holiday homes for sale, many of them including decking’s and pitch fees paid until the end of the season (30th November)! Click here to view our list of Holiday Homes for Sale.
This brings me on nicely to what is our main role. We are ambassadors of the parks and carry out many tours of the parks either by walking, driving around in our people carrier or by meeting potential customers on a particular park in our Smart Car. We are very lucky that four of our five parks are around Bridport and within 5 minutes of each other. Sandyholme is just 30 minutes along the coast between Weymouth and Dorchester in a small countryside village of Owermoigne and a fantastic location to explore some of the best places on the Jurassic Coast.
It may only be September but in the Holiday Home Sales world, the 2019 models are about to be released. Southern Counties have a 2019 model already if you would like to see it. So where do we get caravans from I hear you ask! Well in Bridport we have over 30 caravans on display all the time in our two local dealerships, Southern Counties and Surf Bay which stock Willerby Holiday Homes, Atlas Leisure Homes, ABI Holiday Homes and Swift Holiday Homes. We also have Carnaby Caravans and Europa Caravans available from Exeter and our friends at Regal Holiday Homes and Victory Leisure Homes always have a presence on the showground.
We are already planning ahead and we are off to Beaulieu Holiday Home Show in a couple of weeks, which runs from Friday 21st – Sunday 23rd September. It is a great chance to see all the new models and a perfect day out if you are thinking of changing your Holiday Home or purchasing on one of our Parks. If you would like to come to the show we are offering free transport on the Saturday via a bus, or if you are making your own way there let us know if you would like a ticket. Contact Jen, Dan or Val on 01308 426917 or email email@example.com.
As well as Caravans, one of the biggest new areas of our job in the last 18 months is in the luxury lodge market, thanks to our new development called “Jurassic Retreat” at Larkfield Holiday Park. We have a range of showhome lodges for sale here, as well as vacant pitches, where new Holiday Home Owners can work with Prestige, Pathfinder or Pinelog to choose their dream lodge holiday home and make any additions or customisation to it that they wish. With a great location just 5 minutes walk from the beach and in the sought-after village of Burton Bradstock, a Holiday Home here is a great way to make memories with family and friends. We hope to see you at our Jurassic Retreat Open Day on Sunday 7th October 2018 between 10am and 2pm. We will have on display the new Prestige Hampton Lodge, as well as the others that are currently available for sale, which at the time of writing is the Pathfinder Retreat, the Pathfinder Tuscany and the Pinelog Skyline View.
We like to think that we make the process of buying a holiday home easy and our information is readily available online or via our sales pack. Our website has a page on the benefits of Holiday Home ownership, how to go through the process of purchasing a Holiday Home, the most frequently asked questions we get and finally testimonials so you can hear what our lovely Holiday Home Owners think of their dream lifestyle on the Jurassic Coast.
